Your Castle Elopement Venue
What could be more romantic than eloping together and getting married in a magical Cornish Castle by the sea? Pengersick Castle is rich in historical charm yet feels totally intimate and cosy. You'll have exclusive use for your big day and stay. If you choose, you can have your ceremony outdoors within beautiful landscaped gardens.
How does it
work?
What does it mean to Elope?
These days, we think of eloping as a couple travelling somewhere to get married without telling or inviting any or all of their family and friends. It's for couples who don't want a big 'traditional' wedding and prefer to focus on each other. It's highly romantic!
What are the legal requirements?
In order for your elopement to be legally recognised as a marriage, you need to follow certain rules. You must 'give notice' at your local registry office at least 29 days before your ceremony date. When you give notice, you'll need to let them know your choice of venue and the local authority where the wedding will take place. Of course, you need to be of legal age (16+). You'll need 2 witnesses to attend the ceremony (we'll be delighted to be your witnesses).
Planning your day
Your registrar will contact you and discuss the ceremony with you. You can choose from various options as to how the ceremony is put together. It's all pretty simple and straightforward.
As for planning the rest of the day, we will be very happy to work closely with you to help choose what and who you need to make your day perfect. We help make your planning painless and stress-free. You can choose from our handpicked team of local suppliers, selected by us with utmost care to give you excellent service delivered with warmth and sensitivity. Our recommendations include everything you might need, including Hair and Make-up, Photography and Film, Florists, Wedding Cakes, Restaurants, Taxis, and even Wedding Rings.
